Powerpoint is NOT a print publishing app!
Authored by: Chas on Dec 22, '05 10:54:45AM

In related news, I was unable to repair my carburetor with a hammer. But when all you've got is a hammer, every job looks like a nail.

Why do people insist on using the wrong tool? Powerpoint is not intended for producing print-ready documents for prepress applications. So don't be surprised when it works poorly when you use it for a job it was never intended to do.

So What

I completely disagree with your attitude here. Ok, so they shouldn't be using PP as a publishing app (quite frankly, best not to use it at all) but if you read the post... the person was doing it for an acquaintance... not an appropriate response in my opinion.

Tegardless, this issue affects you whether or not you are going to be "publishing" from PP. It's a bug and Microsoft ought to fix it and it's nice to know a way around it! Thank you for posting this hint!

Yeah, whatever...

Most of us don't care *what* he uses PowerPoint for. We are more interested in removing mystery Asian fonts from PowerPoint presentations.

If he had just posted the fix, instead of his reason for seeking it, you would have never had a reason to gripe.

You can't seem to see the forest for the trees...
