10.4: Add Nokia 9300 iSync support
Authored by: latecomer on Nov 22, '05 09:14:22AM

In response to BeerCake and to IvanX, this fix does no longer work for a Nokia 9300, with iSync 2.2.1 and Tiger 10.4.3 :-(

I implemented this fix exaclty as xth and thoth explain (excellent hint) and it worked great - total sync using isync for iCal, and Address Book ... but I think the Tiger update killed it.
Now the Nokia 9300 is seen by Tiger, that decides I can only use Address Book (with some wierd way of auto sync) and it gives me some kind of CTI link with popups accompanying incoming calls !

Enough to say I am frustrated as I have now lost the iCal and Address Book synchronisation.

If any of you need to keep this, avoid the auto updates !

Perhaps somebody will find how to 'update' this fix to adapt to the new software versions ? I hope so !

Bye all,
Peter

Just copy the iSync 2.1.1 Application from another machine and your 9300 syncing will return.

I did this:
- Deleted the pairing on the 9300 and the Mac
- Copied the iSync 2.1.1 Application from another machine and dropped it into the the Application folder on my 10.4.6 Mac
- Installed the free 9300 sync plugin http://the.taoofmac.com/static/Nokia9300iSyncPlugin.zip
- Pair up the phone and the Mac again and all my syncing worked again
