Create an 'X days ago' iTunes playlist for podcasts

I just use an "Unplayed Podcasts" Playlist.
Once I've listened to a Podcast, It's unlikely I want to listen to it again, unless I want to listen to a specific part of it, Then I'll just select it out of the Library.

I tried that, but it seems to show alot of shows I've listened to; perhaps only if they play all the way thru will they go to played status?

Yep, that's correct. Lots of podcasts I listen to have up to 2 minutes of theme music, etc., that I just don't want to listen to, so I move to the very end of the track (say -0.05) and let it play that 5 seconds. Then the play count for the track will be increased by 1, and it won't show up as unplayed.
