Script may not work on one machine with FUS
In the hint the author predicts the script will work with two users on one machine, so long as fast user switching is enabled. Alas, in my testing it did not (10.3.9).
Script may not work on one machine with FUS
I found this (sorry, replying to my own posts!). So it looks doable!
Modified version for fast user switching environmnent
This my first attempt at doing anything with Javascript. I've only begun to test it, but I think it's the right track.
The problem with two users on one machine is that you have to tell AppleScript which user session to get the tracks from. The capability to do this was apparently introduced in 10.3 but it didn't work. In 10.4 its seems to work, but it's almost completely undocumented.
In fact, this may be the first example of this that Google might index!
