Bluetooth adapters, wake from sleep, and headsets

You also might like to know that the Apple Firmware updates also works with (some) non- D-Link USB Bluetooth Adapters.

I have a Sitecom CN-500 and for the hell-of-it tried updating it with Apple's firmware updater. To my surprise, I didn't end up with a dead dongle, it updated it fine.

Obviously its the same internally - maybe others work too?

I just tried the updater on my Billionton USBBT02-B USB bluetooth adapter and it seemed to have applied successfully, and now allows me to check the "allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer" checkbox.

So there's at least two that work. :-)

Yes, but have you tried using the adapter with a headset? Lots of adapters work on the Mac out of the box, and some support the updater, but that still does not mean that they will support usage with a headset. That's the key issue that has caused problems for may people, headset support.
