Just a NSTextView with the "graphics allowed" checkbox set. The "editable" checkbox is apparently selected as well, so it accepts drag. It shouldn't, but it's not a very big deal, as the view's content is never saved anyway.

As per my other comment, this view is not an NSTextView, but a WebView. In theory, they could have subclassed it to explicitly disallow any external content. But probably not so much a bug as an unintended feature.

I happen to like it when such things are posted. This made my morning space out and cup of coffee that much more enjoyable. Thanks for posting this "bug".

Perhaps it looks intriguing at first sight, and it some cases unintended features can make for great uses, but really, we have multitasking in OS X now. We can use QT player as usual, also when we are running an update. There is no gain in usage or usability from this hint.

Can we take a moment and enjoy a cute little quirk here, instead of cybergeek ourselves to death. That's the reason most of us got macs, right. Try something like that on Windows and the crazy thing would probably blow up. |
