Great tip!

This is, indeed, an excellent combination of applications which has increased my functionality quite a bit. Having set this up while exploring MaxMenus for the first time, I was hooked. However, I do prefer to assign my middle mouse button to double click, with the fifth or far right button doing my InstaMenuPop™ functions...
Never thought to post as a tip, sorry! I'll think harder next time, promise.

BTW: Anyone know of a good, 5 button mouse not made by Kensington or Microsoft? Logitech only makes 4 button, and that's about the best I can find. I need a new 5!

I use MaxMenus and USB Overdrive in the same, but with an added twist. I've created a folder in ~/Library called MaxMenus. Inside, I have folders for Apps, Utilities, Internet, etc. And inside these folders I've put aliases to my most used applications.

Then, create a MaxMenu that has this "MaxMenus" folder in it; I also put System Prefs and a couple other items in the menu. Assign an F-key to it, and then use USB Overdrive to type that keystroke; I use the scrollwheel mouse button for this.

Result: a very handy launcher!

Razer Boomslang 2000 by kärna Precision LLC. kärna went bankrupt, though, so these aren't easy to find. They are, however, the best dad-gum five-buttoners out there.
