10.4: OS X 10.4.3 update released

I didn't check my console log when it happened, but I had exactly the same problem.

As per a previous hint listed here, I'd added "-v" to the "boot-args" variable in the nvram so I could see all the text messages on boot. I removed this setting, and upon reboot (couldn't use the Finder, had to type "reboot" as root in a console window; I expect "sudo reboot" would work just as well) all was well.

In my googling on the subject, other people have had similar issues and ended up resetting the nvram settings to fix the problem (along with a bunch of other stuff, but the nvram thing was the key for me).

Hope that helps.
