Use a MySQL-provided database management tool
Authored by: tekjnke on Oct 27, '05 04:05:52AM

I am having a connect issue with mySQL and wonder if someone here can assist - if I am asking in the wrong area I apologize.

I am running MySQL 4.1.15-standard via socket on OSX 10.4.2, on a Mac Mini 1.5GHz with 1G ram, with a wired connection to the network. On the same machine, through mySQL QB I can connect just fine (go figure), but nothing else on the network can connect (which is a problem).

I am new to this so I am certain I missed something somewhere, but not sure what. The firewall is not on, there is no other security software in the way and we even directed the port 3306 to the machine for mySQL.

I suppose the biggest question is what is the server host we should enter? We've tried them all.

Thanks a ton!
