I'm behind a firewall and so rarely assign passwords to internal machines. My AFP usernames have no passwords but all do have spaces in them.
A "%20" is needed to represent a space, ie: afp://User%20Name:@server.domain.com/volume This will work to mount the server(s) manually. However, auto login will only work if a password is assigned, thus: afp://User%20Name:password@server.domain.com/volume

To make our lives easier, we just give the users a password that's the same as their username. Made things tons better. Setup a keychain, do a little script to mount the servers, and viola mounting at logon. |
