Confirm 'Change Extension' dialog via the keyboard

A lot of well-coded apps have dialog boxes where you can use Cmd + the first letter of the button name. Eg: if you have a dialog box with buttons Yes, No and Cancel then Cmd-Y will do Yes and Cmd-N No. The exception to the rule is Cancel which is traditionally Cmd-. (period).

Interestingly some dialog boxes don't even need the Cmd button to be held down. A notable example is the dialog box that appears when you press the power button whilst the computer is on. Power button then S = the fastest way to sleep your computer!

..or, if you'reon a fullsize keyboard (not an iBook, for example), you can hit control+eject keys (bottom left most and top right mostkeysof the keyboard) to bring up the shutdown/sleep/cancel/restart dialog. My mac is under the desk and hard to reach so this is much easier for me :D

Works on my girlfriend's iBook running 10.3 and my Aluminum Powerbook running 10.4... but thanks - I never knew about that trick. Pretty sweet!

The absolut EASIEST KEYBOARDSHORTCUT would be to type "TAB" then "SPACE"
this works no matter what extensions you are changing IE no need to think about what the first letter of the correct extension is :)

Off course you would have to have full keyboard access enabled and use it for "All Controls" - but if you like to NOT use the mouse to much you would allready be having this setting active ;-)
