How do people use the "check" feature?
Authored by: pbekkerus on Oct 07, '05 04:54:25AM

I use the check/uncheck for several reasons:

1. I keep a large library of sound effects, and I never want them played unless I specifically want to use them for something.

2. I own songs that have explicit lyrics that I don't want popping up when my kids play any smart list by genre--like Prince's B-sides, or just about any hip-hop these days. It's also nice to know "Because I Got High" by Afroman won't play in my "Pop" playlist when the in-laws are visiting.

3. I teach music and use iTunes to control a number of accompaniments, and don't want those to show up in a random party shuffle.

4. Just because I own a song doesn't mean I want to hear it. I have lots of concert recordings that I keep for archival purposes, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to them.
