10.4: Upgrade Diskwarrior 3 to repair 10.4 disks

This might've worked as a hint if it was simply an admonishment against using older utilities on discs with 10.4.x on them. I still see quite a few non-bootable/non-mountable discs that have been trashed by NDD or older versions of TechToolPro. Of course, the folks who perpetrate these are usually unlikely to be checking out this site...

For the record, the only directory utilities that I've found to be qualified to work on 10.4 discs are: DiskWarrior 3.0.3, TechToolPro 4.0.5 and DriveGenius 1.1.5. Using any earlier versions is like dangling your data over the edge of the Grand Canyon. And if you own both OS 10.4 and Norton SystemWorks or NUM then throw your Norton CD away. Any version of DiskDoctor and the older versions of TTP will trash the extended attributes in 10.4's implementation of HFS+J and if you have no backups, will likely require using DataRescue or professional data recovery. In all the cases I've come across, DiskWarrior has been unable to reconstruct them once the damage has been done.
