Authored by: Mas Caliente on Oct 02, '05 11:32:37AM

HI I have just received my Navigator 5 upgrade for my palm tungsten T5.. and I am also having problems installing from my mac os 10.3.9. There is no conduit on the disc as there should be.. so i tired to download the conduit mentioned here and it expands as a UNIx executable file.. which is not good to me... What do i do??

Install TomTom Navigator 5 on Palm from the Mac

I've been there and I feel your pain. Here's how to set it up:

http://homepage.mac.com/selgart/tomtom/intro.html

I spent two entire maddening evenings getting it up and running (twice) and it wasn't easy. Well, that's not true. It -is- easy but the instructions are either missing or incorrect.

Hope this helps.

Install TomTom Navigator 5 on Palm from the Mac

I finally got selgart's instructions to work for me, but only after some very frustrating hours of trying. Installing the Navigator software went smoothly. But installing the maps onto an SD card as he describes only works if you run the TomTom Setup program [em]all by itself[/em] with no CDs [em]or disk images[/em] mounted. If any of the disks are mounted (either in CD or DMG form), the only option that appears is to install the application itself, not the maps.

If no disks are mounted when you start TomTom Setup, you can then insert a map disk and will be allowed to install maps to the SD card.

Quite a mess . . . but now that the maps are installed it is exceedingly cool.
