No. I think what the post meant is that iTunes only lets you edit the normal fields, but podcasts often contain this "subtitle" or "Description" field which iTunes doesn't let you edit. If you put "Podcast" in the title or comment or artist or whatever, iTunes wouldn't stop you from going back and editing it again.

What this means is if the podcast uses one of these unusual fields to ID itself as a podcast, it'll be tricky to change that.

I would just try hexediting it if I were in that position. Pretty sure ID3 tags are just text appended to the very beginning of the file. Just change "podcast" some other 7-character string and it'd probably be fine.
