Make sure you haven't selected the Corporate tab!
Of course, when I saw this post, I immediately went and started Messenger to have a look at the corporate tab which I have so carefully ignored. Seeing that I would never use it, I quit Messenger and replaced the file as mentioned in the hint. However, when I restarted Messenger, I no longer had two tabs (which was right), but the contents visible were the corporate contents.
So, if you want to apply this tab, make sure you have selected the personal tab before quitting Messenger. If you do make the same mistake as me, just download MSN Messenger 5.0 again and reapply the new file, but after having reopened Messenger and having selected the Personal tab. ---
Make sure you haven't selected the Corporate tab!
Before changing any files found in an Application Package, you should always make a back-up of the file. Most Application Package files, (All that I have come across), will happily ignore a new folder in the package. Whenever I change any Package files, I create a "backup" folder inside the package and copy unchanged versions of the file I am changing. If anything goes wrong I can just copy the backup back into the root level of the package.
