Doesn't seem to work for Smart Playlists. There is no "clear" option for songs in a Smart Playlist, so the Option-Delete type thing doesn't work in there.

I want to delete all songs from my iPod Nano that are NOT in a playlist. I've successfully created a smart playlist that lists all songs that have not been assigned to a playlist, but cannot use the contents of that smart playlist as the template for deleting tracks from the iPod.

Any ideas?

Either copy all the songs to an ordinary playlist, and delete them from there. Or, as I used to do before i learned the option-del, select all the songs and change artist to "X". Go to library and delete all songs by "X".

Neither of this solutions are very practical or nice, but they work.
