10.4: Share an iPhoto library among multiple users
Both are. Note that he ads +R to the command that adds the ACL. That means that he/she is adding that rule to the folder AND to each and every item contained in that folder, while I am only applying it to the folder (new items created in the folder will still inherit that rule, but existing one will not).
10.4: Share an iPhoto library among multiple users
Excuse me, let me elaborate. He is FIRST moving the library folder (not what I insisted against: moving its CONTENTS into a new folder) and THEN applying the ACL to the ORIGINAL library folder and all its contents (by using the +R flag), and lastly placing a symlink in place of the original Library, so as not to need to instruct iPhoto where the new Library is. |
