well, you can choose your own folder to place those files and you can also limit it's size.

Adobe Camera Raw and missing disk space

Who processes the same raw image twice?

Mmm, Astronomers?

Actually, anyone who really NEEDS to be using the raw data, and is actually using it, potentially is going to be processing the same raw image twice. Sure, I know many will just tweak their own custom profile as a default (as opposed to a non raw version as determined by the cameras electronics), but the idea is to pump more info from raw data. Need more shadow detail? It is there.

But I suppose you are saying, even if you save the raw data, there is still some in the cache that needs to be cleared. And I am speaking from theory, not experience. But theoretically, some people could be using (not using) RAW data, just because it makes them feel fancy, not that they actually need it, or need variations on it, in their work flow.
