10.4: Tell Mail not to include attachments on replies
Maybe I do not understand, but it is in my version of Mail (the latest one) under redaction tab (I am not sure what it is in english). It says «citer le texte du message original» which basically meas exactly what you want. This is the first thing that I uncheck when configuring mail for a new account. When I want to include the text of the message I am replying to, I just press command-option-i.

For an English system, that preference is under "Composing" and is named "Quote the text of the original message". BTW: The sub-hint about using Cmd-Option-I to obtain this text even if this setting is disabled, is excellent and worthy of its own hint... |
