Unable to download "uninstall Symantec products"
Authored by: Biorichard on Aug 29, '05 05:29:56AM

I too am unable to download the file. Is there an alternate URL?
Or - to second the request - please can you post the file?

My problems are:
Ever since I updated to 10.3.9
I get upon startup following error messages:
Unable to load Norton Privacy Control extension
Norton Personal Firewall error (Kernel extension not launched)
Norton AntiVirus Error.

Updating to 10.4.2 changed nothing here.

At this stage I would simply like to uninstall, but the uninstaller provided by Norton with the software returns an error and does not do anything.

Thanks for any help or information.
Richard

Link

Alt Link

Scroll 2/3 down the page and the file download link is there. I was able to re-download it from that link, so hopefully, you should too.

Are you running firewall software? Try turning it off temporarily.

What program are you using to download the file? Try Transmit:

http://www.panic.com/transmit/

and then paste this link into transmit:

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/misc/consumer/mac/NortonUninstall.sit

Good luck.

I guess my (Norton) firewall posed the problem - after turning it off I was able to download the file.
And, the uninstall worked!

Thank you for your help!

Richard
