Save QuickTime 7 movies to disk

Folks, you guys are making this more difficult than it needs to be. It's actually much easier in QuickTime 7 to save streaming videos.

Simply pull down from Safari's "Window" menu to "Activity" to see the name of the streaming movie that's streaming within Safari. Then, you can either double-click on the name of the movie to open it in a new Safari window, ready for you to save (if you have QuickTime Pro installed)... or even better, you can OPTION-DOUBLE-CLICK on the movie to have it immediately download to your hard drive.

If the movie is streaming within QuickTime Player, do a "Show Movie Info" within QuickTime Player to find its URL, paste the URL into Safari, and then follow the steps above.

Your hint doesn't seem to work with (for example) the following movies from http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/program.html (select any quicktime version).

I actually managed to download those movies using curl through a series of four or five movie indirections (reference movies). The actual movie never appeared in Safari activity window.

Can you make it simpler than what I had to do?
