this must be one of the rare instances where my intuitive notion of how the program should work aligns with apple's.

To answer cudaboy, as allanmarcus' post above says, you can also assign keywords by dragging them on top of the keywords in the lower-left section. I did it this way in iPhoto 5 for a long time until I found the Get Info, which is much faster. You can get the floating Get Info palette closer to your photos, plus it simply responds faster than dragging, say, 20 photos over the lower-left panel keywords. |
