Using Pref Setter you can change the value for the Key "EmbedColorProfile" from NO to YES. I haven't run any tests to see if that really allows your color profile of choice to truly get embedded but you can change it and test it out.

So there is a hidden prefs setting? Why did Apple never enable it? Do they think we are too silly to use ColorSync profiles in an i-App?

It should be obvious but I omitted that I was referring to iPhoto's preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist.

You are absolutely right. iPhoto uses EXIF tags. But it always did. It will not use the settings from Image Capture to ADD an ColorSync profile to the photo file. This will happen only when using Image Capture.

Absolutely. It was an read-only slideshow program.

I do get profiles imported with my images in iPhoto 5.0.4, OS X 10.4.2. As I mentioned before I use ColorSync Utility to assign the profile and it works fine in iPhoto. If Image Capture isn't doing the job then I suggest giving ColorSync Utility a try. |
