10.4: A shortcut to reset the printing system
Authored by: tbuddy on Aug 08, '05 02:39:25PM
I found that from apple's site just the other day. It worked great when I had all of my printers mysteriously drop off and a complete inability to add them back, but for some strange reason I still have all of the printers disappear on lougout, reboot and often times in the midst of running apps. It is bizarre, but has at least taught me how to add printers very quickly with the benefit of full keyboard access. That reset printing system feature has been a must every morning for about a week to get outputs, would have loved to have it or have known what it did prior to tiger. For some reason I could not find the manual fix on apple's site, though from my recent reading the workaround has been documented since 10.2. The apple article is here for what it is worth, which also contains that shortcut.
