A fix for an odd Thunderbird/Firefox font problem
mfuhrer has the right fix here; the font problem is caused by duplicate fonts. You can take care of it very quickly using the Font Book:
Select the "Computer" fonts; all duplicates have a little bullet after them. Use the command key to select all of the fonts with duplicates, then choose Edit > Resolve duplicates. It will go through and disable any User fonts, and when you restart Firefox (or whatever) the problem is gone.
This way you avoid deleting fonts -- if you want to make a backup of all of your fonts they're still all in your user fonts directory, even the system fonts.
A fix for an odd Thunderbird/Firefox font problem
Hi. I also have this problem of duplicated fonts making Firefox useless. However, I have tried solving this problem via the "Resolve Duplicates" option, which does work initially, but after using Firefox, all of the duplicate problems reappear! Why does this keep happening? Please help me. |
