A subtle fix for hard-to-diagnose installer hangs
Authored by: BobHarris on Jul 25, '05 11:18:15PM
In my .bashrc file I wrap the contents in:
    if [[ ${-#*i} != ${-} ]]; then
      ...
      ...
      ...
    fi
In my .tcshrc (or .cshrc) file I place this a the top of the file
    if ( ! $?prompt ) exit  # quick exit for non-interactive sessions
This works very well for me. I've used this stuff on my Mac, Tru64 UNIX, HP-UX, and Linux.
