10.4: Enable fax send/receive via Bluetooth
Authored by: KSchlz on Jul 22, '05 01:39:00PM

Hi
I did all as you said.
But it does not work.
I want to send a fax from Word.
My mobile (V800) is connected. BluePhoneElite etc. work.
So it should have no problems with bluetooth. But I disabled all of them.
Send I say PDF as fax.
Bluetooth-Modem Window pops up.
Waiting for the .. Modem
And this is where it stops
Kay

Same here on my V3. Setup procedure goes fine per the Hint. But can't fax. If I select Print from File menu, the only option I have is under the PDF button to Send PDF. And I'm pretty sure this can't work. Isn't the Print Button supposed to turn to a Fax Button?

If I select the Fax PDF, my AL PowerBook with builtin Bluetooth connects to the phone and the phone shows the number and begins to dial. But the just stops abruptly.

I bet there needs to be something on the cell phone end. I'm on Cingular. I bet Cingular doesn't support this type of connection.

I'm very skeptical this hint works.

I just want to add also that I can via bluetooth dial my V3 and connect to computer to the internet via Cingular GPRS. So I know all my connections are fine with my phone and computer.

That's exactly as far as I get. The phone starts to dial, but stops dead in its tracks, before a connection is made.

Actually, I believe the issue is you must have fax/data service activated in your Cingular account for this to work.

The symptom is my V3 will go so far as to flash on its screen that it is about to dial, and then the connection ends. For those who are a bit more patient than others, you will notice that the computer continues to attempt to make the call several times before the fax expires.
