Whilst probably not 100% legal, you could just copy your wife's iPhoto if you got her a newPowerBook. Or I bet you can find iLife '04 for a bargain price on the internet if you want. I have to say though, comparing iPhoto 4 to iPhoto 5 it really is worth the upgrade, so from 2 to 5 I imagine this is also the case

Actually, you can't. it comes on the restore CD, and the restore CD only works on the system type with which it is included. Not that I tried or anything...

I haven't tried it, but you shouldn't need to "install" the program from any CDs, just copy it from one machine's Applications folder to the other's.
