Tip: Custom playlist, custom genres, and smart playlist

I use iPodderX Lite, which lets me set custom genres and playlists on feeds. I use this to import all podcasts into one regular (not smart) playlist (named "Podcasts- All" as you describe, but I also do a little more. I set custom genres on the feeds using a standard (as in consistent) naming scheme. The genre names start with the closest music related genre, followed by a hyphen, a space, and "Podcast". Here are the genres I use for an example... 1) Comedy- Podcast (for Viva Podcast) 2) Gospel & Religious- Podcast (for Godcast) 3) News- Podcast (for Free Talk Live, no corresponding music genre) 4) Technology- Podcast (for This Week in Tech and Inside Mac Radio, no corresponding music genre) I also have a smart playlist called "Podcasts- New" containing everything with a genre ending in "- Podcast" that has a playcount of zero. What does all this do? The "Podcasts- All" playlist provides me with an archive for all my podcasts, in one place. Genres like I describe provide separation, and because the genres start with a corresponding music genre when possible, the music and corresponding podcasts are next to each other on my iPod and in iTunes. The smart playlist gives me all podcasts I haven't heard in one place.
