Get notification of new Mail messages in 10.4

Just tested Growl. It's not up to version 1 yet, but there are many annoying things about it. Some notifications you can move, some you can't. Some notifications can stay on screen until clicked, some can't... Annoying little things like that.

Once it gets cleaned up and more customizable, I'm sure it will be fine.

However, it will never be able to supplant the exquisite simplicity that was Mail.appetizer.

Some notifications you can move, some you can't.

actually, we don't have any movable notifications. you can change the position of Bezel notifications, but that's in the preference pane — there's no dragging. we do plan to extend the preference, whether by dragging or by the same control; we haven't decided yet.

Some notifications can stay on screen until clicked, some can't...

that's a feature, called 'sticky'. you can override the developer's preference in Growl preferences.

I am a Growl developer.

Thanks for your "corrections". Positioning is what I meant by "moving notifications." It would seem if it works for one (Bezel), it should work for another.

Glad to hear!

I have to say, after adding the SpongeBob style, I am eenjoying my email notifications even more. I just wish I could position him on the bottom left instead of the top right. (Must be a "lefty" thing.)
