10.4: Use Preview to quickly view a folder of images

I use Automator. Create a workflow with:
  1. Get Selected Finder Items
  2. Get Folder Contents (repeat for each subfolder found)
  3. Open Images in Preview
And save this workflow as a Finder plugin with name "open in preview". This now appears in the finder's Automator contextual menu.

I find this useful because it recurses through subfolders too, but you can omit that bit if required.

In general, Automator is your friend.
