How to downgrade to QuickTime Pro 6
When I installed QuickTime 7.0 in 10.3.9 the installer gave THREE explicit warnings that my version 6 pro key would not be valid. First the readme file (which the installer itself displays) clearly stated that QT 7 requires a new pro key; next a dialog box appeared indicating that my current pro key would be invalidated if I continued, which I had to acknowledge with an "OK"; finally, just before the real installation began, there was an "are you sure?" message that I had to answer yes to before my QT 6 pro installation was replaced. From my perspective, not only was there warning given and permission asked, the point was absolutely driven into the ground.

I have upgraded to QT Pro 7 (on Tiger) but encounter a complete crash of QuickTime when I use a certain codec.

You may have been warned during your install, but during my upgrade from Panther to Tiger, there were no such active warnings displayed about nuking my QTime 6 Pro key. |
