10.4: A possible fix for missing imported Mail messages

Mail also did not import *any* of my old mail on first launch. The fix is to do the following:

1. Quit Mail
2. Open ~/Library/Mail
3. Drag Envelope Index to the Trash - for those who care, Envelope Index is an SQLite database that is now used to index all your mailboxes
4. Launch Mail

This time mail properly indexed all my mail - hooray ! Now why didn't Mail figure that out by itself !

THIS HINT SAVED MY DAY. Really. Although sick with flu, I went to the apple store to get my powerbook fixed, underestimated traffic, waited in a genius queue for more than hour, then forgot somewhere (the cafe? or my car's roof?) the great neopren case with repair receipt inside, then came home to use my backuped messages on my old ibook and... wtf is wrong with just putting the mailboxes into the right place?. Until i came across to your post. THANKS DUDE, I KIND OF LOVE YOU (well i do have fever now...)
