I have to agree with the previous comments - this isnt much of a "hint" more of a repetition of whats on the feature list for tiger (e.g: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/ical/ "Happier Birthdays"). However I won't *censored* - its a easy mistake to make..

what I want to really know, is as the original poster noted, is there a way of setting alarms for birthdays with this feature? It's pretty useless without it!! (I've "blamed" this current "feature" on me missing my sister and brothers birthday last month..)

I agree that without having the ability to set alarms for these, it is fairly pointless.

The reason I have birthdays listed in my calendar is to remind me that I have to buy presents or wish someone a happy birthday, so not having the ability to set a reminder for these defeats the purpose.
