When Preview allows you to edit/annotate Acrobat 7 PDFs and save those changes, let us know.

me too.

although on the PC at work, i used a program called "acrobat reader speedup", which does the equivalent by disabling unnecessary plugins. It means that on my work PC acrobat reader loads in a second, rather than 10-15 like the default installation.

Preview can't manage large and complex (many photos) pdf files. If you try for example scroll up and down a big MacWorld issue in PDF format (20-30 Mb), Preview crashes! Moreover, Acrobat is faster in that cases.
