10.4: Use Google Maps with the Address Book widget
I'm running into a syntax error when I place this into Script Editor. It highlights the first two characters of the script (#!). Any ideas what the problem could be?

This is not an AppleScript, and has nothing to do with Script Editor.

Script Editor is for Applescripts and this is not an Applescript but a unix shell script. Even if you don't know about shell scripts, (I certainly don't) just follow REH and UNIXROCKS's instructions above, exactly, and all should work. I did have to fight Tiger a little to get rid of the txt extension. Do a GetInfo on the ksh script in the Finder to make sure it truly does not have a .txt extension that's being hid. If so delete it in the GetInfo window and select the option to not hide the extension. I used the .ksh extension and used Robs tricks make & mod a widget in my user library so didn't have to use sudo and it worked great. |
