A fix for an odd Thunderbird/Firefox font problem
Authored by: kyngchaos on May 27, '05 12:03:07PM

Maybe an isolated case, but not so isolated problem.

On a few Panther Macs I've had font files mysteriously copied to other locations.

One, without any 3rd party font management, all fonts in /Library/Fonts were copied to the Classic fonts folder. This created a massive slowdown on login and crashed many applications, with having all those duplicate fonts active.

On one, with MasterJuggler, the whole MasterJuggler library (outside any system fonts folders) was MOVED to the Classic fonts folder (the user had R/W on the MJ fonts, as opposed to the above case where it was read only). I wonder if this has to do with fonts being active - the whole MJ library was mysteriously activated a few days before, and it may have happened then.

No font copying problems yet on Tiger.
