Try using a public key

You should probably use a public key to log in to your machine anyway. It's easier and it's more secure than using plain old login.

By the way, if you get the S/Key prompt when you SCP your public DSA key to the remote server, just type any old thing into the login prompt and password attempts. After about three attempts, it will drop you to the plain old login.
