Since Apple's made things trickier for using single-user-mode for anything much more than cp or rmHmm what do you mean?

This enables you to run diskutil in single user mode for example. But since we now also have the Terminal application on our client install media we really don't have to deal with that anymore.
BTW, on the 10.3 Install CD you had to stop at line 168.
