10.3: Enable Distinctive Ring fax answering in Tiger 10.4.1

Seems that the little fax menulet introduced with 10.4 doesn't recognize the distinctive ring tone as an incoming fax. When I remove the -SDR=2 from the fax code the menulet cycles through Ringing, Connecting, etc. but in that case the fax also answers my voice calls.

Not a big deal since I think the menulet is an addition but wondered if anyone else had seen this. BTW I'm on 10.4.1.

Yes,

Having a playing this morning with my new iMac G5. Doesn't look as if it supports distinctive rings either. And as above, it answers both the fax ring (RING RING) and the phone (RING RING )

The command ATI0I1I2I3I4I5I6I7 in ZTerm for the modem reveals:

960
Apple Version 1.3.2
Motorola SM56 1.3.2
Apple Internal Modem
7E
64
Motorola SM56 I2S Fax Modem
It's an iMac G5 1.8 Ghz 17"

The SDR commands just return ERROR

Oh BTW, you mention adding the SDR command into the fax code... where do you do that. When i click "Setup Fax Modem..." in System Prefs for Print and Fax, it brings up an empty Printer Setup Utility window labelled "Fax List", but no faxes in it to configure...
