You know... if you hit tab, you can use the old style of navigating. Launch SysPrefs, hit tab, then type the first few letters. Seems to work for me.

Even if I press the TAB key it doesn's move the focus out of the search field...

In the Keyboard & Mouse prefs, you'll need to turn on Full Keyboard Access for 'all controls' not just 'text boxes and lists only'.

Whoooooooopie.
