mouse not working after OSX update

during the update, my computer crashed and i need to reboot (i'm sure the update is not 100% finished yet), after i reboot my computer, i find that my system had already upgrade to 10.1.3 but my mouse is not responding anymore, i tried to boot the system to OS9 (so hard that u dun have a mouse luckily i got my OS9 CD to reboot, i find my mouse is working again (only in OS9 but not OSX anymore, someone can help? pls.. i'm still a newbie to MAC environment...

Crashed during the update? Errr...hate to be the dark demon of bad news...but that ain't good. Chances are you will want to re-install the OS. You can try downloading the stand-alone update of MacOS 10.1.3 (get it from www.versiontracker.com) and try re-installing the update. However, I'm not sure if this is possible without mouse control. The easiest route will be to just install the OS from the MacOS 10.1 update CD and then use the Software Update panel to bring everything up to speed. It should leave all your preferences alone, so you shouldn't lose anything. Good luck!
