Dell 5100cn network printing
Couldn't get a Dell 5100cn color laser printer to print from Mac OS X machines on the network. Kept getting the same "printer is busy" error on port 631 that you had with the Samsung. The printer LCD panel says it is on port 9100, but I don't know enough about networking for that information to be helpful.

As mentioned in the earlier post, switching from IPP to HP/Socket mode with the same IP address for the printer corrects the problems encountered with the Samsung CLP-500 printer. I am running it through a D-link 524 router with a direct ethernet connection from the router to the printer. The Samsung CLP-500 driver for Mac on the Samsung.com website does work this way. |
