10.4: Use the Weather widget from non-USA locations
Authored by: zorg on May 03, '05 02:44:53PM

In parts of Canada it doesn't seem to work. For example, in my province I can get both Fredericton and Moncton (New Brunswick), but not Saint John. I've tried all combinations (Saint John, SaintJohn, with NB, with New Brunswick, with Canada, even the postal code E2H 1A1 -- as it shows on Accuweather.com website) but no luck!! :(
Any ideas???

Not every city is available. My town (in France) is not, but a town about 20 km away is. This said, since I live in the mountains, the weather is often different between the two...

I live in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and this hack doesn't work either. :(
here's the link, it exists on the site... http://wwwa.accuweather.com/canada-weather-forecast.asp?partner=accuweather&myadc=0&postalcode=K7K%201A1

entering variations of my address, city even the "postal code" the url has fails. I have to settle for Belleville weather.
Belleville?!?! They're smaller than we are! :P
What gives?

I still find it odd that Accuweather.com shows more cities than the Apple Widget!!
Oh well :(
(Hey, I used to live in Ontario, and dated a gal from Trenton -- we referred to Belleville as Ballsville, Ontario :) I wouldn't be happy with weather from there either.

As I said before, type the city name in the weather widget and HIT ENTER. It will show you the city.

ZORG, Saint John is "St. John" in the weather widget. Try it, it works.

Kingston shows up a long list but I think the one you want is in there.

another hint here ran across the "fix"

type in the city/town name, then hit tab, it should then show some options
(where hitting enter did not)
for example when I tried Winnipeg and enter, no matches were found
but Winnipeg and Tab gave the option "Winnipeg, Canada(MB)" (and another similar named city)
