Breaks ZiO's New 10.1.2 Drivers
Authored by: nordy on Feb 20, '02 01:39:54AM

Microtech posted their new drivers for the USB CameraMate on Feb 19. This was to update their old drivers that got broken with the 10.1.2 update. Now the new OS X 10.1.3 update breaks their new update.

This must be exceedingly frustrating for peripheral makers to have a moving target like this. Doesn't Apple keep them in the loop as to what is going on. There is no profit in this for them. We keep harping on companies to support OS X, but I guess I can't blame them for going slow on their updates with this track record.

The older drivers now work with the newer MacOS. Go figure. Go to

Breaks ZiO's New 10.1.2 Drivers

I have the USB CameraMate and got it working. The user, mmelder, found the solution when he upgraded to 10.1.3 without ever upgrading the old Microtech drivers. First, you have to clean out the existing drivers. Go to /System/Library/Extensions in the terminal and clear out the two directories that start with eUSB:
sudo rm -r eUSB*

Next, grab the version 1.02 drivers here:

Install the drivers, reboot, and enjoy!
