Set up a Belkin wireless print server
FYI, I have two Belkin 7230-4 routers that I purchased for $10 and $20 after rebates (pretty easy to find). Connecting my Epson C84 to the Desktop computer, I can print wirelessly from iBook (with filesharing turned on). This is a very cheap way of setting up an Apple WiFi with remote printing. The second router acts as a repeater. My network extends from one building to another.

The above note should have read "with PRINT serving turned on..."

Yes, I did that, too. And everytime the desktop went to sleep the printer disappeared from the network. That's why I bought an Airport Express. But it can only support one printer.

Hmmm, odd. My set up prints even when my desktop computer (Cube G4) is asleep. I can see the printer in my printer list on my iBook. It seems to take longer to print, but I can see the Epson, and it does print. |
