Can Mac OS X Setup Assistant be rerun after install?
Authored by: noel_gomez on Mar 23, '05 11:23:35AM

I have an iBook and a Powerbook and the iBook is my most up to date machine.

If I wanted to, would it be possible to run setup assistant on the Powerbook to get the stuff from the iBook? I dont mind overwriting the PowerBook.

I guess you could - the key is to boot up the 'old' machine (ie the source of the data) in firewire target disk mode and plug it into the 'new' machine.

I would assume that this would work with any machine capable of doing the firewire connection. Oh, and you need to find a copy of the setup assistant, which wasnt installed by my Panther (10.3.2) install CD's.
