you can also send an arbitrary number of files by selecting them in the finder, invoking QS, then hitting "cmd-G" (for "Grab").

Of course, you can also select files in the finder, initiate a drag operation, invoke QS, then drop them onto the app you want.

Of course, there is a bit of a bug in that situation, as it sends multiple "open" requests, rather than a single "open many" request. This makes doing things with multiple files more than a bit slow
