Make iSync work with the Motorola A1000 - progress but not success...yet
Authored by: d_a_friedman on Jan 28, '05 11:13:29AM

progress update:

1. i realised that you have to go to the netinfomanager to enable root login
2. once i logged in as root, i managed to follow all of aniello's suggestions
3. after being confused about how to save the symbianconduitdefaults.plist as a plain text file, i realised you had to this via "format" in the textedit menu. eventually i save the file as utf-8 plain text.

result: i can send files to the A1000 via bluetooth, but i sync still doesn't find the phone when i scan for new device in isync.

does anyone have any suggestions? (yes, i used my phones MAC address in the symbianconduitdefaults.plist file)

any help greatfully received.

thanks

david

further update:

You have to be very careful with the SymbianConduitDefaults.plist file.

For example, even after conversting it to plain text and saving as UTF-8, I discovered that there were some extra spaces in the body of text. Once these were removed, the A1000 shows up on my iSync window.

However, when I try to sync the phone, I get the error message:
16:50:38 Connecting to A1000

16:51:49 Error |A1000| Could not connect to A1000. Please check the pairing with this computer.

16:51:49 Warning Can't synchronize contacts to A1000: device is not available

I have tried removing the device from my bluetooth prefs and repairing, but this doesn't seem to help.

againm all help gratefully appreciated.

regards,

Hi there.....can anyone help me?????

I have managed to set up my Mac and A1000 for the isync. However, when I start the sync it goes through the motions but just towards the end the synchronisation fails

Does anyone know a way around this?

Regards

Djuro
